Teaching

I decided to change things up in mid-2026 and am now a fully licensed substitute/casual teacher in Colorado. I currently teach in the St. Vrain School District, specializing in STEM subjects at the high school level. I am especially interested in teaching Mathematics (particularly Calculus and Statistics) and Computer Science/Technology, but I also enjoy teaching Physics and Chemistry. Before this, I taught Digital Imaging to third-year Radiography students for two semesters at the University of Sydney, focusing on imaging fundamentals such as Image Quality and Compression, Fourier Analysis and Transformation, and Filtering. It was one of the most rewarding roles in my career—in my second semester, my students achieved the highest scores in class history, with around 25% earning the top possible grade. Prior to that, I was also a teaching assistant for first- and second-year Physics students at the University of Sydney.

With the possibilities of AI, I’m constantly working on internal projects exploring how to help students better understand complex technical subjects in Computing and Digital Imaging. What does the future look like? Articles and videos are great, but should I expand this to interactive web tools that let students drive their own learning? Educational gaming? AI agents allow you to plan and experiment at a rate I didn’t think was possible, so I’m having a great time exploring.
